About Kris
I'm a music producer, mixer, and recording engineer based in the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas of Queensland, Australia. I have a passion for what I do and want to help you bring out the best in your music. My main goal is to focus on the emotions and message of your music and do whatever is needed to bring that out in your performances and in the final product. I firmly believe that's how others will connect to your music and want to listen to it time and time again.
My main genres of experience lie in rock, metal, and their many sub-genres. Music is music though, and I love working on different and new sounds and styles that spark emotions in me and capture my imagination.
I have the skills to assist and collaborate with your music in virtually any required areas including production, mixing, engineering, pre-production and demos, songwriting, lyrics, performing on tracks, and more. I'm a multi-instrumentalist with years of practical and theoretical experience in drums/percussion, guitar, vocals, bass, and synths/keys, so I'm typically able to help out with your music as much or as little as needed.
I graduated from QCGU in 2019 with a Bachelor of Popular Music with distinction, which is where I discovered my drive for this career path. I then completed my Honours degree in 2020, with music production being the research topic of my dissertation.

Producing
My main priority when producing is to tune in to the emotions of your music and do whatever is needed to capture that. I aim to do this by working with you and getting you into the right headspace to perform at the right level for the song. Nurturing an honest and comfortable collaborative relationship is a key part of this, and is something I value highly.
I've got years of experience and education in songwriting, music theory, multiple instruments, recording and mixing techniques, and more. This means I can get involved as much or as little as needed, and help plan ahead with your song's production all the way through to approving the final masters.
Mixing
As with producing, my goal when mixing is to find the emotion and message of your music, and highlight it to help listeners connect to it. I love getting actively engaged in the mixing process by performing mix moves whenever I can. I feel that this helps to give your music more life and energy.
Mixing is also very well suited to remote working, and I am always keen to work with bands/artists overseas.
I use industry standard equipment and software in my mixing process and am always adding more to my mixing palette.
Engineering
It is incredibly important that you're comfortable when recording your music, and I always aim to create the right vibe and setup for you to achieve that. I'm also inspired by those who think outside the box when it comes to recording, and I therefore enjoy trying out interesting recording methods in situations where it can infuse the right creativity or emotion into your music.
My degree gave me hands-on experience working with legendary and beautiful gear from brands such as SSL, Neve, Neumann, Teletronix, GML, API, and Universal Audio. I'm also constantly adding to my own list of equipment.
Performing
I am a multi-instrumentalist and can help with writing and performing of parts for your song on recordings, or by helping fill out your band on stage if needed.
My primary instruments are drums and guitar (playing since 2007 and 2010 respectively), however I'm also able to help with bass, keys, synths and vocals. I have both practical and theoretical experience with all of these instruments.
